A Tale of Wet Resort
(A mini-sequel to "Wet Finance")
Starring Suzie Gharib
By Nemesoak
It was the summer of 2002, and the previous ten or eleven months had been taking a toll on Susie Gharib, the trim and still attractive 50-something New York anchor of PBS's "Nightly Business Report". First, there were the well-known traumatic events of the previous September which wreaked havoc on the financial
industry and forced the New York portion of the show to relocate at the New York Stock Exchange itself. Then, other incidents had Susie full of anxiety. But, being a true professional, she always appeared cheerful on the TV.
However, her husband knew what was happening and he did his best to be supportive of Susie. With the coming of summer, he decided that a nice trip away from the city would do his wife a world of good. Eventually, he found a nice resort in upstate New York and even got brochures describing the place in detail.
When Susie came home from work, her husband asked "Made plans for the long weekend?"
Susie replied "I don't know. I'm not really in the mood for anything major."
"Well," her husband responded, "I did. I found a wonderful resort upstate." With that he handed Susie the brochures. "See," he continued, "they have
everything you could possibly ask for, even sports stuff. You know how you like sports."
"Seems nice..." answered Susie.
"I think we should go. The trip will do you good. It will be fun, just the two of us." her husband stated.
The preparations were made and they packed, though Susie seemed to be bringing more than one would expect for such a trip.
"You seem to be bringing a lot, honey." Susie's husband commented.
"Not really. It's just that there seems to be so much to do up there. Oh, one more thing... Here it is... that nice one-piece you like." With that, Susie threw the bathing suit in the suitcase and was finished.
The drive to the resort was long and uneventful. It was late in the afternoon when Susie and her husband arrived. After checking in, they walked to their room. Stepping inside, Susie was astonished. "Look at this! Boy, this is fancy! It must have cost you quite a bit!"
"Honey, for you, it's worth it." her husband replied.
After dinner, the couple checked a list of activities for the next couple of days and returned to their room. Tired from the long drive, they watched some TV and turned in early.
Next morning, after breakfast, Susie's husband said "I have an idea what we can do today. How about some tennis? It'll be fun."
Susie, less enthusiastic than she usually would have been at the prospect agreed. A little later, they changed into their tennis outfits - Susie in a short white sleeveless tennis dress and her husband in a tennis shirt and dark green shorts.
At the tennis court, they were trying to decide who should be on which side of the net, when a couple in their late twenties arrived and spotted them. The
couple, Kevin and Melanie, figured that Susie and her husband were a couple of middle-agers and would be easy opponents. Kevin walked up and introduced
himself.
"How about Melanie and I play a game against you two?" Kevin asked.
"Sounds like fun." Susie's husband replied.
The game began and it did look like things were going in favor of Kevin and Melanie. Then it happened. Susie's anxiety was starting to ebb. Being on a tennis court took her mind back to happier times and her excellent tennis skills (FYI: Susie Gharib is actually an accomplished amateur tennis player) came back.
The tide of the game turned.
Kevin and Melanie were astounded at the sudden turn of events. They were running all over the place to keep up with Susie's rapid fire game. What looked like an even match turned into a rout.
After the defeat, Kevin and Melanie were good sports and walked over to the net to congratulate the victors. Kevin had shaken hands with Susie's husband and
was considering giving Susie a peck on the cheek, but a disapproving glance from both Melanie and Susie's husband killed that idea, so he just settled for a
handshake.
Once the rackets and ball were put away, Susie and her husband decided against heading back to the hotel and instead opted to walk around the grounds, still in their tennis outfits. Eventually, their walk took them to the large lake the resort overlooked. Finding a quiet spot, they noticed a small dock jutting out into the lake. They both walked onto the dock. Then, Susie's husband
removed his shoes and socks, sat on the edge and lowered his feet into the water. Susie then did the same.
Looking down into the lake, Susie noticed how clear the water was. She could clearly see pebbles on the sandy bottom.
"Look how clear the water is." she commented. "Wonder how deep it is?"
"The water sure does look clear though. It's these mountain lakes. At least the water isn't cold."
"Maybe if we can figure out how long the pilings are, we can figure out the depth of the water." Susie stated.
"True," her spouse replied, "but there is an even simpler way to find out." With that, he gave Susie a quick shove and pushed her into the lake.
Susie went under completely, her tennis dress billowed up somewhat and revealed her tennis briefs. The water felt great and Susie enjoyed the sensation as it reminded her of an earlier wet adventure (chronicled in "Wet Finance").
Surfacing, her hair was slicked back, which made her look a little older, but her trim figure more than made up for that. Her tennis dress went a bit translucent and revealed her sports bra. Much to her husband's surprise, she wasn't really angry.
"Hey!" Susie exclaimed. "You got me wet! You know what that means!"
Her spouse knew indeed and put up no real resistance when Susie grabbed his feet and pulled him into the lake. While underwater, he thought the view was
impressive.
Surfacing, Susie's husband said "That was fun! Now that we're both in, let's have some fun."
The couple then frolicked in the water and even did some simple aquabatics.
A little while later, Susie's husband commented "I have an idea. If I take my shirt off, my shorts look just like a swimsuit. And I bet if you took off that
tennis dress, your bra and briefs would look like a nice bikini."
"Honey," Susie responded, "I haven't worn a bikini in a long time... Oh all right." She then unzipped her tennis dress and swam out of it. Her husband was right. Her opaque sports undergarments did look like swimwear and felt sexier than swimwear. Her husband removed his shirt and the couple continued their aquatic play.
It was mid-afternoon when they decided to end their swim. Getting out of the water, they got dressed and hiked some more, letting the soft breeze dry their clothes.
When they got back to their room, they checked the time. It was still a few hours before dinner. Susie started towards the shower, when her husband said
"Why rush? We got time. Besides, I think I know something else we can do..."
Seeing the expression in his eyes, Susie replied "I know what you're thinking..." The couple found a rather enjoyable way to pass the time, after which they showered, changed and went to dinner.
While they were eating dinner, Susie commented "I had a wonderful time today. Thank you for insisting I go on this trip."
Susie's husband replied "I enjoyed it too. I did this all for you. After all you been through, you deserve to be the center of attention, at least my attention."
"Wonder what we have on tap for tomorrow?" Susie asked.
Her spouse answered "Well, we can go canoeing. Or there is that indoor year round skating rink. You do love to skate."
"I saw it the brochure." Susie stated. "That's why I packed my skates, you know, the ones that blend with my legs."
"Yes I do!" her husband replied. "Wonder which outfit you brought for skating?"
"You'll find out..." Susie answered.
